Mission & Board

Visual Arts Minnesota is an exhibiting 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves both artists and non-artists.  Each year we produce and host dozens of exhibits and events that benefit the creative community, creative youth, art patrons and audiences, and the careers of artists across Minnesota. Our mission statement is to:

“Foster a relevant and engaging visual culture in Minnesota through exhibitions and community partnerships.”

  • With various competitive, high-profile exhibits for mature artists,  artists from Minnesota are able to exhibit their most mature work to reputable jurors and the community.
  • Since 1980, the High School Art Recognition Exhibition has showcased the works of area students in a fun and competitive setting.
  • Visual Arts Minnesota manages three ArtScope Community Galleries (America Red Cross,  Center for Pain Management, and Falcon National Bank)  artists have opportunities to exhibit their work in professional non-gallery environments, allowing for even more opportunities to gain the attention of art buyers.
  • In 2011, Visual Arts Minnesota launched its first FYi Professional Development workshop weekend to bring some of top arts organizations, museums, gallery owners to a group of artists interested in expanding their career options.
