Call for Volunteers!

Visual Arts Minnesota is looking for volunteers to help with various programs, special events, and board roles.

Our volunteer positions are great for people who want to gain experience in organizing groups, fundraising or event facilitation. Plus they are great opportunities to meet other artists and arts appreciators! Our board roles are specialized and require some experience in order to bring the organization to the next level.

Time Commitment varies, and can be decided based on the needs of the volunteer and the organization. If interested, please contact Heidi Steadman at vam@visualartsminnesota.org

Programs that we need volunteers for includes:

Teen Sketchbook

Must be good with promotions with teens, connected with schools. Oversite and assessment skills needed, but no need for “programming”… Currently every Friday, but schedule can be changed based on the flexibility of the host and demand of the activity.

Sketchbook at Jules

Participate in weekly sketchbook sessions, help with promotion and assessment of program. May develop this session into a book club concept as well.

Biology Sketch

2^nd Mondays, and fun environment. GLBT community, open to all! Help with promotion and development of program and network.

Collective Memory of St. Cloud Arts Culture

Art viewer voting on a sculpture by Jon Billings

Interest in art history of St. Cloud and surrounding communities. Coordinate regular meetings for people to discuss the arts in st. Cloud over the past decades. Contacting experts or “folks who know things” is a requirement! Fun and relaxed project.

Fundraisers

Help with fundraising activities, including annual fundraiser, identity development, and annual fund drive. Good writing skills important.

Art installation

Scheduled installations, done with some planning, but mostly in 1 day (or a couple hours) in order to allow businesses to continue without much interruption. Some ‘home work” necessary, like designing labels and information for exhibits. Great opportunities for students or artists looking to gain experience and understanding of art installation, art exhibitions, and more. Self motivation and promptness necessary!

Social Media and Website management/editing.

Help executive director with website and social media content, proofreading and upkeep. Great at-home volunteer opportunity that could help with career goals and skill building.
